Successful performances for MIS' ASA Music Ensembles at AMIS

Munich International School’s ASA Music Ensembles had successful performances on their AMIS (Association of Music for International Schools) trip in Amsterdam at the American School of the Hague in January 2018. Highlights from this trip include:

  • The World Choir and Symphonic Orchestra being chosen to perform at the Honors Master Classes.
  • MIS Grade 8 student Eni Xu was chosen to play her Chopin Waltz solo at the piano master class.
  • MIS Symphonic Orchestra received a 1+ highest grade with distinction for their performance of Bela Bartok pieces. The adjudicator praised their musical style and spirit, rhythmic drive and the musical communication between the players.
  • The World Choir also received a 1+ score grade with praises and comments on tone, blend and a good expression.

Participation and success of MIS students was made possible by leaders on this trip. MIS thanks Raynard Blampied, Alexa Beattie, Anna Rehker and Pamela Stout who spent countless hours rehearsing with our students.
