Please note that as last year, the Athletic department focuses on the school’s competitive teams that play against local clubs or other international schools. Other sports-related activities are run through the activities department and necessary information can be found in the activities booklet.

Student participation at all levels of the school and support from the whole school community are the keys to this success. Parental involvement, whether it be supporting the games, housing athletes from visiting schools or helping out with the Imbiss, are all critical parts of the programme and the development of school spirit. I encourage students and families from all nationalities to participate in athletics at MIS; involvement in sports will help build friendships across the many national and cultural groups which exist in our school.
The programme has plenty to offer students, from E league soccer (grades 3-5) to Varsity teams. All students should take advantage of this great opportunity to participate in a wide variety of sport at school. It is not just an opportunity to develop physically, but a chance to grow mentally and socially, to learn to compete fairly, and to travel and be part of the great world of International School competition.
Involvement in sports carries responsibilities. Commitment to your team through regular attendance of games and trainings must be a priority. It is not always easy to fit training around the demands of a busy school schedule, but with good personal organisation and planning, a high standard of both academics and sport is achievable.
