The Sportverein is best described as a booster club for MIS sports that also shoulders the legal responsibility associated with playing organised sports in Germany. Our aims are to support the student athletic programs and to offer adult recreational opportunities.

Through fundraising and membership fees (required of all students in school teams and those doing Sportverein recreation activities), we financially support the MIS community through the purchase of uniforms and equipment as well as the provision of travel subsidies when student teams require air travel to their tournaments. In addition, we provide parent volunteers for assisting in tournaments, running our snack shop, etc.
Of course, volunteers are always needed with our fund raising events such as the annual Ski Swap and the Used Books Sales.

MIS Sportverein offers two membership types:
Type 1 - Individual membership for a student or parent of a student currently enrolled at Munich International School e.V. (MIS e.V.), an alumnus of MIS e.V., or a staff/faculty member of MIS e.V. Individual membership costs €25 per year.
Type 2 - External membership for individuals other than above who support the aims of the MIS Sportverein e.V. This membership has no voting rights but allows the member to take part in Verein sports and activities. The external membership fee is €50 per year.
Payment is made by bank transfer or by filling in the “direct debit” section (Einzugsermächtigung) on the application form.Remember, MIS Sportverein membership is compulsory for all students who compete or participate in team sports organized by the MIS Athletic Department, and for all adults who participate in Sportverein-organized sports on the MIS campus.
Membership for individual Verein members participating in competitions is coordinatedby the Athletic Department. Please note: Although members active at student league level and those registered for adult sport activities also receive insurance coverage, it is strongly recommended that you also have your own medical insurance.
ADULT RECREATION OFFERINGS
Participants must be 15 years or over.
