Every child benefits from having access to different cultures, perspectives and languages. Clear and expressive communication enables children to succeed in their lives. Living in Germany without the host language minimizes the pleasure of experiencing the new culture. The German department offers the language B program to enable students to enjoy and participate in the new culture. Language is a major connection between school, the intellectual development and home. Students for whom German is their dominant language require a broadly based home language to refer to; these differing language needs are met through the German language A program.
EC students receive eight German lessons over a two-week period. Students in Grades 1-4 receive nine German lessons over a two-week period.
