Information and Communication Technology (ICT)

The primary objective of ICT in the Junior School is to provide the foundation skills necessary for students to develop fluency in the use of computers and to provide ICT learning opportunities and support through unit of inquiry integration as students become active, compassionate, and lifelong learners.

EC students attend one ICT lesson every two weeks. Grade 1 and 2 students attend one ICT lesson every week. The ICT integration specialist and the classroom teachers collaboratively plan these classes. Grade 3 and 4 students use technology to enhance learning as required within their units of inquiry. These lessons are generally planned and taught collaboratively by the classroom teacher and the IT integration teacher.
