Assemblies are held every week, alternating between one for Early Childhood students and one for Grades 1-4. Most Early Childhood assemblies include a story read by the Principal, a song led by the EC music teacher and the presentation of IB learner profile awards by the EC teachers. These awards recognise attributes of the IB learner profile that have been demonstrated by each class over the past two weeks. The Grade 1-4 assembly is organised by a group of Grade 4 students, under the supervision of the Principal. Teachers propose items that can be presented by members of their class, individually or as a group. The emphasis is on encouraging students to explore new roles and ideas and develop their presentation skills in front of an audience of their peers. In this context, all students are communicators learning to understand and express ideas and information confidently in more than one language and using a variety of modes of communication. IB learner profile awards are also presented to individual students by several teachers at each assembly.
