Gymnastics

Get fit while having fun! Junior students will practice a variety of mats and floor exercise; will use bars, pommel horse, trampoline, balance beam; will learn forward and backward rolls, straddle rolls, hand and head standing, cartwheels, walk over and much more. All of this will provide an overall body workout, shape muscles, help keeping the right posture, improve coordination, balance and strength. The whole body will be also stretched. As children skill’s progress, they become increasingly confident in their physical abilities improving their performance in other areas.

Gymnastics is a physical sport and injuries can be expected, that is why we would like to advise parents and students about some fundamental rules: listen carefully to all instructions; don’t  do any exercise or go onto any equipment without the coach‘s permission, be on time for class so that the warm up will not be missed (in order to avoid injuries, the muscles must be properly warmed and stretched at the beginning of each class), long hair must be tied up or put into a bun, children must wear comfortable, stretchy sports pants (not stretch denim) and t-shirts, most of the exercises will be practiced barefoot, proper behavior is expected at any time.

Students that have participated in previous sessions have priority and for safety reasons we have reduced the number of spaces available in the Spring session. (See below)
