MIS Foundation

The MIS Foundation was established in 1999 as a charitable endowment fund, authorized and supervised by the Government of Bavaria. Its purpose is to support the education of students, in particular in the field of the arts and culture. To this end the Foundation provides limited funds for related activities not normally financed by the school. The Foundation is supervised by a Board of Trustees and administered by a Board of Directors who include a Member of the MIS Board, the Head of the Munich International School (MIS) and qualified members of the Munich community.

"Throughout its 10-year history, the Foundation has sponsored projects in which art was used as a vehicle to make a statement, close a knowledge gap, ask a question, illuminate a truth or simply show beauty". – Maha Kattoura

Guest Lecture Series, 2012: John Pilger

From the beginning, and consistent with the broad mission, the MIS Foundation supported programs at MIS which were thought to foster emotional intelligence and were beyond the curriculum offering of the school. Prime examples are the film program, World Choir, Voice and Body and the instrumental program. These did not previously exist at school.

The past 5 years have been dedicated to seeking expertise, knowledge, culture, beauty and stories and bringing them to us. China, India, Tanzania, El Salvador, Borneo, BMW represent an eclectic collection of destinations brought to us under the umbrella of Art.

All of our lives are enriched by these experiences.
