The Parent Teacher Organisation (PTO) of Munich International School (MIS) exists as a separate, independent, non-profit entity within the MIS community and works to provide support to the Junior, Middle, and Senior Schools in a variety of ways.
The goals of the PTO are to:
- Develop a close-knit MIS community.
- Provide volunteer support to the schools.
- Serve as a vehicle of communication and develop opportunities for the free flow of information within the MIS community and the school.
In order to meet these goals, the PTO has developed a network of resources, listed below, to help new families adapt to their new environment.
Welcome events programme - held during the year and a great opportunity to meet new and returning families.
- Area representative programme - provides an opportunity to make contacts within your local community through coffee mornings and other events scheduled throughout the year.
- Grade representative programme - provides an opportunity to make contacts with other parents within your children-s grades.
- Nationality Representative Programme - provides an opportunity to make contacts with other families with the same cultural background.
- Weekly Bulletin - a key source of news that provides all families with up-to-date information on upcoming events and activities around the school.
The PTO also provides valuable resources to the Junior, Middle and Senior Schools. Some recent donations include:
2010 - One year's worth of Rosetta Stone for all MIS staff and families
2009 - Skateboard equipment for use during lunch
2008 - Play House for the EC playground
