We were very excited to see so many students, parents and employees using every corner of the 2.080 sqm sports hall when participating in either Basketball, Badminton, Volleyball and our fun gymnastics parcour! Our upstairs spaces offered dance, fitness and a sports health science session.

We are delighted to report that, after various delays due to Covid, the first phase of work has now begun on the construction of a pre-school with toilet and kitchen facilities in Milaweni village, near Moshi in Tanzania.
Good news! So far, our construction project “Fitness & Athletics Building” (FAB) at MIS has been running smoothly. Winter has passed without major delays and some critical phases have been successfully completed. The project is also blessed by the formal approval of the City of Starnberg. The excavation work is now almost completed and we have poured the first concrete for the robust foundation of the new quadruple sports hall…
The coronavirus pandemic has forced us to think about what is important in life. Increasingly, nature and the environment become more vital as part of the healing and balance with the current demands placed upon us by the pandemic. Part consciously and but often unknowingly, we gravity to nature. The smallest of green spaces have been rediscovered and revered. School is no different. Ignored and underutilised outdoor spaces have come to life with activity on many school grounds…
The additional demands on parents during a lockdown, particularly of supervising school learning at home, are enormously challenging. My own fleeting experiences, of trying to work on my laptop whilst my 10 month old son gleefully tries to bang on the keyboard and close or bite the screen, gave me a glimpse into the huge demands parents face in motivating, supervising and supporting your children whilst they are in distance learning…
‘The new normal’, ‘extra-ordinary times’, ‘lockdown’ and ‘covidiot’ are but a few new expressions and words that have entered the English lexicon on a more frequent basis since the onslaught of the Corona Virus in the world from early 2020. At Munich International School (MIS), we created a media studio to enable students to create podcasts, video presentations, and other forms of audio and video media communication. Our students had indicated that this was an area of interest for them, and we were thrilled to be able to create a space with the right tools and with some experienced media producers who were already working on our staff. But to get the students started, we wanted to model for them how a podcast works. So we picked a current development on our campus (a new physical and health education facility that students helped to design) and built an initial podcast around it.
