Tanzania Trip 2022

We are so excited to finally share that after a long gap due to Covid, in July 2022, a group of 25 Senior School students and four chaperones were able to make the service trip to Moshi, Tanzania.

The Trip group visited all the projects MIS supports including two new ones at HADEA and FTK (https://www.ftkilimanjaro.org). Both are locally based NGOs; with HADEA our young disabled people are helped and with FTK, our support enabled the building of a Pre-K classroom and a toilet-block for Senior School students.

In addition, the students undertook a service project at a local school, Shiree Matunda, doing much needed renovation work of ten classrooms.

The Trip included several cultural experiences including preparing food, learning dances, meeting local people in formal and informal situations. One of the other highlights of the trip was a camping safari to Tarangire and N’gorongoro national parks.

It was so rewarding for all to see and experience how MIS’ donations are directly impacting those in need, learning much about the country, its people and themselves.

Most of the photographs are student contributions. We thank all the students who submitted these fantastic insights.
