Weather Station at MIS

MIS has its own weather station and weather app!

Thanks to the very generous donation from the Science Inspiration Fund and with the support of our dedicated Science teachers and Facility Team, MIS has its very own weather station including a weather app!

Students will use the weather station to extract and collect scientific data (i.e. solar incidence, solar intensity and UV radiation, wind speed, precipitation, temperature…) for student-designed experiments.

The weather station is located behind the LADC and was established as part of a wider project called the “Soil Plot Project” in which excavated soil layers from the grounds of the new Fitness & Athletics Building are used to study the natural succession of vegetation and eventually animal life. Two sets of the three would be used for experiments while one set will be left alone.
