Join us to celebrate the last day of in-school attendance of the Class of 2026 on Thursday, April 2nd, through a ‘Honk and Wave’. This will be the beginning of our 12th graders weeks before their final IB exams. This page will hopefully have all the details you would need to know about this special tradition at MIS.
Arrival
Please arrive to school at earliest 11:00 and not later than 11:45 to park and decorate your vehicle. Parents will be guided by parent volunteers to the designated Honk and Wave car park area. Please listen and adhere to instructions from parking officials.
Parents would need to park close to one another, no large gaps in between cars.
Plan to be by the tunnel /bus stop by 11:50 i.e. 30 minutes before students are released from the school. The students will arrive from the tunnel andcelebrate in the carpark. A MIS photography backdrop will be available for photos, which will be later possible to download on this website.
Departure
At 13:00 there will be a loud signal (loud horn) for cars to leave the car park. The FIRST car will be leaving first, followed by the other cars.
When leaving make sure all windows are clear and you are able to drive safely.
Approx. timings of the event:
From 11:00 – Parents arrive at the MIS carpark to decorate their car before the Grade 12 students come through the tunnel.
From 11:50 – Parents gather around the tunnel.

13:00 (approx.) – Signal (loud horn) for Grade 12 students to leave.
Cars’ decoration
Each family car can be decorated as creatively as you like, with balloons, photographs, etc. For inspiration, have a look at last year’s video of Honk & Wave and click on Examples for more photos.
For environmental reasons, no confetti/glitter please!
If you wish, you can un-decorate the entire car once you leave the parking lot.

We look forward to an unforgettable event featuring creatively decorated cars, lots of enthusiastic cheering, and a vibrant atmosphere!
