Last Call: Apply for a Board Position by Feb. 28th

Dear MIS Parents,

This is your final opportunity to apply for a position on the Munich International School Board of Directors! We are looking for passionate and dedicated parents who want to help shape the future of our school. If you have expertise in areas such as finance, strategic planning or human resources, we encourage you to apply for a three-year term on the Board.

This year, three Board Members—Florian Wendelstadt, Linda Johnson, and Laura Marsi—will conclude their mandates. Our nomination campaign began in December at Winterfest, where we shared flyers and hosted information sessions. Since then, we have communicated the opportunity through the MIS website and a LinkedIn post, successfully gathering a number of strong potential candidates. By the end of March, we plan to shortlist five candidates to be presented to the parent community for the election.

Many parents ask about the role of the Board. In short, the Board supports the Head of School and the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) in shaping MIS’s strategic direction. This includes ensuring the right organizational structure, monitoring the school’s overall health through data and trend analysis, and discussing key issues and opportunities that influence strategic decisions. Additionally, the Board plays a role in recruiting principals and is responsible for appointing a new Head of School when needed.

However, the Board does not interfere with the daily operations or routine decision-making of the Head of School and the SLT. You can find more details about the Board's responsibilities here

Don’t miss your chance to contribute to MIS’s continued success! The application deadline is February 28th. For more information on how to apply or to learn more about the role, please contact laura.marsi@gmx.de or sophieadelman@gmail.com or Alejandro.bethlen@zooplus.com.

We look forward to hearing from you!

Warm regards,
The MIS Nominations Committee
