Measures of Academic Growth

Written by MIS Communications | Oct 15, 2025 1:07:04 PM

We have recently completed our first session of MAP testing in Grades 3-8. Students experienced this adaptive assessment in Mathematics and Reading which approximates their current level of readiness for skill development and progression. This learning data provides teachers with essential information to inform groupings, interventions, and extensions to ensure that each student is growing along their personal learning trajectory. Overall, our students performed very well on this assessment, with 31% scoring above the 80th percentile in Mathematics, and 26% scoring above the 80th percentile in Reading (U.S. Norms).

In response to this data, teachers are taking multiple steps to personalise learning for students. These include:

  • Supporting students to choose texts to match their reading levels
  • Designing AI-informed tutors for differentiated numeracy skill practice
  • Flexibly grouping students within classes based on strengths and needs
  • Extending students to apply skills more deeply and across multiple contexts
  • Creating individual action plans for students in need of additional scaffolds and support structures.

As parents, you will have access to the Student Progress Report and the Quick Reference Guide to understand the Progress Report. The Family Report will not be available for this session because there is not yet historical data or growth to report. These reports can be accessed through the Parent Portal in Isams by following this pathway: Parent Portal -> Documents & Resources - External Exam Results - NWEA - MAP Growth (G3 to G8) or iParent App -> Information -> View Documents & Files -> External Exam Results - > NWEA - MAP Growth (G3 to G8)
