SLP Updates: Last Chance to Request Activities!

Written by MIS Communications | Feb 14, 2025 10:14:08 AM

Well done to all parents who have navigated to SchoolsBuddy and already requested places for their children in the 2025-26 Fall Season of Student Life Programme activities! You still have the whole weekend, plus Monday, to make your requests. SchoolsBuddy will close on Monday night at 23:59 and places will be allocated, for those who made requests, on Tuesday 26th August. Importantly, once you’ve made your requests, remember to click ‘submit to school’!

On Tuesday, parents who requested places for their children in activities will receive an email which confirms the places allocated to their children and - crucially - those which were not allocated. Please read this email carefully to avoid sending your children mistakenly to activities where they have not been allocated a place.

After this point, any parent wishing to withdraw children from allocated places must email us with this request at slp@mis-munich.de and wait to receive an email confirmation that the withdrawal has been made. Withdrawals requested after 16:05 on Friday 12th September will still incur the SLP Season Fee for the activity place.

From Wednesday 27th August onwards, SchoolsBuddy will be open again for parents to view remaining activity places and make ‘late join requests’ to add their children to places still available. This must be done via the SchoolsBuddy system.

The Fall Season starts on Monday, 1st September.

As we head into the weekend there are still plenty of places left in activities, in particular:

Junior School: Speedcubing and Garden Club!

Middle & Senior School: Art Club, Book Club, Cooking Clubs, Dungeons & Dragons, Film Club, Photography Club, Warhammer Sci-Fi & Model Painting!

Furthermore all Athletics teams are open for requests and in particular we highlight: Varsity Girls Football, Varsity Boys Volleyball, and Junior Varsity Boys Volleyball. All these and more are open to new members!

And, to send you singing into the weekend, here’s a message from our SLP Arts Coordinator, Ms Kerry Lightfoot to encourage your children to join our choirs: ‘Let's sing!  Did you know, we now have a Junior, Middle and Senior School Choir at MIS?!!!  Being part of a choir can: Increase confidence and wellbeing, improve social skills, create feelings of belonging, and reduce stress - as well as being tons of fun!’

Have a great weekend and get those requests submitted!
