My career has been dedicated to building high-performing organizations, particularly in the education and learning sectors.
Dear MIS Families,
I am writing to you as a fellow parent with two children currently at Munich International School in Grade 4 and in Grade 1. It has been a great honor to serve on the MIS Board for the last three years, and I am now standing for re-election for a second term. As I near the end of my first term, I want to share what we have achieved together and why I am eager to continue supporting our school’s future.
My Contributions as Board Member
Over the past three years, I have served as Board Member and Board Secretary. As the current chair of the Board of Directors Strategy and Education Committee, I have focused on:
- Developing a framework for educational excellence with clear objectives and key results to ensure consistently strong outcomes for every student.
- Increasing the use of data to inform our educational strategy and support outstanding teaching and learning.
- Contributing to the search for our new Head of School and serving on the Nominations and Capital Campaigns committees to strengthen our school’s foundation.
Bringing Professional Expertise to MIS
Outside of my work at MIS, I am an entrepreneur and tech startup executive. My career has been dedicated to building high-performing organizations, particularly in the education and learning sectors. I was the Cofounder and President of Multiverse.io, where I led educational design and delivery that helped the organization achieve an "Outstanding" rating from OFSTED. I also founded One Garden, an online learning platform that I eventually sold to Saga Plc. Today, I run my own advisory practice, supporting growth-stage founders with financial planning, organizational scaling, and strategic leadership.
I believe this background—combining deep experience in education with the strategic rigor of a CEO—allows me to offer a unique perspective to the Board as we navigate complex and evolving environments.
Why Continuity Matters Now
MIS is at an important point in its development. As we prepare to welcome our new Head of School, I believe that continuity, institutional knowledge, and a clear focus on priorities are essential. In my second term, I want to use my experience to:
- Translate our school’s vision into a concrete strategic plan that will guide us for years to come.
- Support a successful leadership transition to ensure stability and progress.
- Contribute to fundraising and community engagement efforts that enable us to invest in our children's future.
I care deeply about the future of MIS and am committed to ensuring every student has the support they need to realize their boldest dreams. I encourage you to support the upcoming Board election and would be honored to receive your vote to continue serving this wonderful community.
Warmly,
Sophie Adelman
