A Philanthropic Journey Within Our MIS Elf Community

During the hustle and bustle of school, private, and work life, it's easy to get caught up in our world—assignments, exams, extracurriculars, and personal goals. However, let's take a moment to reflect on what happened at our campus this December. Magically, our campus transformed into an elf’s camp and incredible impact was generated by our students in a very short time.  They extended their focus beyond themselves and embraced the spirit of giving.

There's an often-overlooked magic that happens when we come together to support each other or those beyond our campus walls. Just as elves work tirelessly behind the scenes to spread joy and goodwill, our school community, too got engaged in various activities and initiatives for the betterment of others. Have you witnessed the Grade 8 Winter Market where 8000€ was raised for the Tanzania Project? Many books have been sold to benefit the Tanzania Project as well.  In total, this semester, over 12,000€ has been raised.  In November, the Middle School collected over 50 boxes of gifts and winter necessities for Geschenk mit Herz. The Primary School has organized donation drives for the Frauenhaus for over 20 years, collecting cookies, hats, scarves, gloves, socks, stationery supplies and toiletries. 1st-graders left candy canes and sweet notes of affirmation all over the cars in the MIS car park. PTV volunteers decorated the whole school, shared raffle presents, and organized so many events and activities. There were joyful gatherings at pop-up Glühwein huts for MIS faculty and staff.  Student choirs performed carols, teachers organized concerts, and countless other festivities spread joy.

It's heartening to witness the care and compassion that our students, faculty, and parents exhibit. The acts of kindness, big and small, collectively contribute to a culture that is not just nurturing academic excellence, but inspiring individuals who understand the power of their actions to make a difference in the world.

As we appreciate the elves crowded within our midst, let us recognize that each one of us can be an agent of positive change. Let's challenge ourselves to seek out opportunities to contribute, whether through volunteering, fundraising, or simply spreading kindness. The joy of impact is not confined to grand gestures; it thrives in the everyday actions, in the smiles shared, the hands extended, and the hearts opened we make a difference. By doing so, we strengthen the bonds of our MIS community and inspire others to join in the elf-spirit of our students. May this idea accompany you during the next busy days transitioning into the new year 2024 with a smile and gratitude.
