Which curriculum does MIS follow?
The curriculum at MIS is comprised of three International Baccalaureate programmes. The philosophy of the IB curriculum is expressed in a series of desired attributes and traits that characterise students with an international perspective. Taken together, these attributes create what the IB calls – the Learner Profile.
The MIS curriculum is not designed to replicate any national programme of education.
Overview of the IB Programmes:
Early Childhood 4/5, Early Childhood 5/6 and Grades 1 – 4:
• IB Primary Years Programme (PYP)
Grades 5 – 10:
• IB Middle Years Programme (MYP)
The programme of studies in Grade 9 and 10 allows the students to meet the IB MYP requirements.
Grades 11 and 12:
• MIS High School Diploma
• MIS High School Diploma with IB Course Certificates
• MIS High School Diploma with full IB Diploma Programme (DP)
What is the Learner Profile?
Munich International School nurtures, challenges and inspires our students to become:
- academically successful, life-long learners,
- creative and innovative thinkers,
- ethical, globally-minded contributors, and
- healthy, well-balanced individuals
who will thrive and make a positive impact in a complex and changing world.
Our values are encapsulated in the IB learner profile. All members of the MIS Community strive to be Inquirers, Knowledgeable, Thinkers, Communicators, Principled, Open-minded, Caring, Risk-takers, Balanced, and Reflective.
Where is the IB Diploma recognized/What is the German equivalent?
The full International Baccalaureate Diploma is a highly regarded certificate that opens doors world-wide for graduates to access many of the world’s most selective universities. European and other universities generally require applicants to have earned an IB Diploma in order to gain admission.
The IB Diploma can be recognised at the allgemeine Hochschulzugangsberechtigung for admission to German universities, if a set of specific requirements determined by the German Kultusministerkonferenz is fulfilled by the student.
Does MIS offer bus service to and from school?
Yes, we have an extensive bus transportation service, which includes about 70 bus routes.
