A Bird's Eye View
Rainbow Tunnel
Welcome to MIS
Families and faculty pass safely from the parking and drop-off area through the iconic "rainbow tunnel," emerging to an expansive view of the Alps on the right, the impressive facade of the Schloss to the left, and a series of adventurous play areas to the front.
Security
Check In
As soon as you exit the rainbow tunnel, your first stop will be our security hut where you will receive your visitor ID and further directions.
Schloss
Our History Stands
The Schloss (meaning 'castle' in Deutsche) was built in 1875. MIS acquired this land in 1968, and the Schloss served as its first school building. It is now the administrative center of the campus.
Cafeteria
Guten Appetit!
Our school's cafeteria is catered by Genuss und Harmonie, offering freshly-made meals using regional and seasonal ingredients. In addition to providing lunches, a cafe is open during campus opening hours providing baked goods, healthy snacks, and sandwiches.
Junior School
Great Beginnings
The Junior School (Early Childhood and Grades 1 - 4) is comprised of an interconnected network of structures including an arena-style auditorium, encircled by classroom spaces primarily for 1st and 2nd grades. Primary students have easy access to the nurses' office, the cafeteria, the library, nearby play areas, and gardens.
Middle School
Life in Orange
Middle Schoolers (Grades 5 - 8) find themselves all over the campus in a normal day. The main Middle School building houses an auditorium, food design kitchen, multiple science labs, and classroom spaces.
Senior School
From Horses to Homework
The main Senior School building (Grades 9 - 12) was originally horse stables. After renovation in the late 1960s, the building now includes classrooms, laboratories, and two black box theatres for Middle and Senior School drama classes.

The Learning NeXus
The Heart of Our Campus
Modelled after innovation studios and co-working spaces, Middle and Senior School students will be able to practice transdisciplinary studies in a flexible working environment with the added convenience of having IT support, library facilities, and research assistance in the same space.
PAC
Performing Arts Center
The Senior School building houses our Performing Arts Center, a theatre and performance space with an audience capacity of 325. The lower floors provide choir and music spaces.
LADC
Language Arts & Design Center
The LADC is a separate building that houses woodworking and design classrooms, art studios, as well as an expansive Middle & Senior School Makers' Laboratory, featuring a media production studio used for live-streaming, podcasting, and student-produced audio and visual production.
