Here are the answers to common questions families may have about our School and transfering from other school systems.
Click HereWe are delighted that you have chosen to make an application to MIS and we wish to make this process as smooth as possible. Before starting your application for the 2023-24 school year, please contact the Admissions office to check availability.
We are now accepting applications for entry into the school year 2024-25. Should you wish to make application, we will provide you with a decision (accept/waitlist/decline) as soon as possible.
Admissions Process
Step 1 - Complete & Submit Your Application
The first step in the admissions process is to complete the online application and to pay the €300 application fee.
Upon submission of your application a confirmation of receipt email will be sent to you, including a link to our Confidential Recommendation Form. This form needs to be sent to your child’s current school for completion and emailed directly to the Admissions office by the school.
Should any other documentation be required for your application, the Admissions Team will be in touch with you.
Step 2 - Application Review
When completed, your application will be passed to the appropriate School Principal for review and we will provide you with our decision as quickly as possible.
After reviewing an application, we will inform you that your application has been accepted, waitlisted or has been declined. If a place is offered on a waitlist, we would not be able to tell you where you are on the waitlist and if/when a place may become available. Please note that no reason is provided should an application be declined.
Step 3 - School Contract
Step 4 - Payment of Fees
Payment of the Registration Fee is due upon signing of the School Contract and before entrance. Invoices for the remaining fees will be sent to individuals or groups as identified in the School Contract or Confirmation of Payment Form and issued shortly thereafter.
Financial assistance may be available through our School Fee Reduction Programme, details of which can be found by clicking on this link here.
Step 5 - Selection Priority & Waitlist
Selection Priority
Admission will be granted to applicants for whom the school’s programme is appropriate, who meet the criteria of the programme and who relate to the mission and values of the school. The selection of students will be based upon demonstrated academic proficiency and appropriate behaviour, as well as attitude to school and study habits. Admission will also depend on the availability of places. When determining admission, preference shall be given to applicants in the following order of priority:
- Internationally mobile students who do not have reasonable educational alternatives in Germany.
- Siblings already attending MIS.
- Children of alumni and students returning to MIS after a leave of absence.
- All other applicants.
Waiting List
If a place is offered on our waitlist we would not be able to inform families where a student is on the waitlist and if/when a place may become available. Given the school’s priority system, a student’s position on the waiting list may change if there are subsequent applications that carry a higher priority.
Offer of Enrollment
Before a student begins at MIS, parents will receive access to the New Family’s Portal, which includes information about transportation, catering, supply lists, our Parent Teacher Verein and other information relevant to the specific grade level of the student.
* Please note that students must be living at home with at least one parent in the greater Munich area.
