MIS is a K-12, non-profit, International Baccalaureate World School offering the Primary Years, Middle Years and Diploma Programs to 1200 students. All courses are offered in English (except language-specific courses) and 95% of students take the full IB Diploma. MIS does not rank students and GPA is unweighted. Virtually all MIS students pursue undergraduate degrees at highly selective universities around the world. A link to our school Profile can be found here.
Arranging a visit
We prefer to arrange university visits during the student lunch break which runs from 1:20 -2:10. Normally university representatives give a talk followed by time for questions. We generally allow parents to come to any session they wish. We also invite you to join the Counsellors for lunch in our cafeteria beforehand. If so, you need to arrive by 12:15, walk from the parking lot through our tunnel to the security desk, provide ID and they will direct you to our office. Occasionally presentations are held after school but these are generally held with groups of universities traveling together.

We are an Apple-only school; if you have a presentation, it is helpful if you can bring it on an Apple-enabled USB stick and let us know what you need (screen, sound, etc). We can provide a laptop that connects to our projection system in a classroom.
If you need us to arrange a taxi, it is helpful to know ahead of time with the time you would like to depart and your destination.
Note that Bavarian International School is 1 ½ hours away from MIS to the north of Munich.
Presentations with an academic focus
Academics/Faculty at your universities are very welcome to give a talk about some aspect of their subject as part of a university admissions presentation. This could take the form of a discussion of the latest research developments in the field (e.g. genetic engineering discussion for Science students), or a workshop enhancing students' understanding of a professional area (e.g. a law workshop based on a case-study approach).
Art schools also often provide time for a portfolio review and we welcome this support.
University Fairs
MIS offers two university fairs; one in September which is organized by College Day, an outside provider (registration must be done through College Day’s website: https://collegedayfairs.org/germany-2019), and one in March that we organize with dates that are coordinated with a number of other international schools in Germany. If you are interested in participation in our spring fair, please contact Manuela Black; MBlack@mis-munich.de
How to get to MIS
